Something about yesterday brought the cabin fever to a head, and I began today with a plan to hit the library early. The last weeks' books were gathered the night before, and the kids were playing quietly, peacefully together. When I excitedly told them wed be leaving for the library in a few minutes, they protested. PROTESTED. They were building a "big tall tower" and didn't want to leave. Okay, VETOED, weird children. Save the cooperative play for later when you're driving each other (and me) insane. We're going to the library!
Derek did suggest I leave Selah home with him so her morning nap wasn't interrupted. I did take him up on that... but I like this round soft baby, and she was hard to resist.

Eden decided to get in on the story time we happened to arrive in time for, but Judah was more interested in the fish.

Though the aquariums feature a variety of fish and turtles, something must have inspired the frog in Judah: the caption for this pose was a fearsome "Wibbip!"
Something about the abstraction of the fish tank and the background appeal to me here, especially in black and white.
I love me a good black and white.
I think Judah enjoyed having the children's department essentially to himself, as most of the juvenile library patrons at the time were listening to the librarian read books in the activity room. We read a book he plucked from the closest stack, but he wasn't interested in the photo I was thinking of afterward. I like his idea better.
We love our library.
What's not to love?

What a great place to be regarded by little ones as a treat. Let's hope that regard never changes!
When was that library built? I don't remember anything that grand!
Love the BW photo of Judah and the last one of the kids in front of the tank. Looks like those pictures of old that I see from time to time, when a family portrait was the only picture you had.
I think you should continue this for the rest of 2011. :)
I also think you should get on networkblogs through Facebook so your blog posts will automatically publish on Facebook. :)
Neat pictures (love the B&W of Judah). Sure wish I could take Elizabeth & Olivia to our beautiful book house...they'd love it, too!
