February Photos, Part III

As one might expect, my standards for photographs, even casually posted family snapshots, have changed over the last couple years. The addition of new cameras, lenses, and editing software have spoiled me on photographic aesthetics, it's true. However, even though the composition is boring, colors not quite right, subject too far away to engage the way I'd like, I kind of like this picture of my Eden, as we were playing Antarctic Explorers this afternoon.

I can't remember the last time I went out and played in the snow. Today's sun and deep drifts reminded me of so many winters spent in snowpants and moon boots and the icy hurt of snow sneaking into socks. (Check out the size of that snowpile! Thank you, City of Holland plows!)

I think my challenge for these daily photos will be to keep them unaltered, straight out of the camera. (Occasionally black and white calls out to me and begs for use. I can not be held responsible.)

Treasure of the day: a portrait of momma by Eden (to be protected from Selah, apparently.)

Eden likes puzzles.
I like Eden.
I like the light at Eden's desk at 2pm.

For posterity, though it feels banal and ordinary. This spends a good deal of time on my line of sight. (The labels are part of a game we're doing with Eden, in which she ASTOUNDS us with her ability to sound out words. Way to go, kiddo!)

Blue eyes, graham cracker crumbs, pudgy paw.

See you tomorrow!

Okay, so I'm a bit slow. I just realized you're going to post a new picture every day. This realization made me very, very happy.
