Naturalistas

Tuesday's photo shoot with Erika and Ana was on a breathtaking piece of property in the woods east of Lake Michigan. It reminded me why I love this area... and the wonder is not lost on little Ana, seen here wading through a sea of brand new fern fiddleheads.

Erika and Ana's interactions were so striking, so natural, and so perfect to illustrate the role I seek to fill for my own children as not only a nurturing mother and teacher, but as a seeker and a learner right along with them.

At two, Ana still needs help, and she is secure in the knowledge that the help she needs is right there when she needs it.

It seems that her confidence in this ever-available support is what allows Ana to be so curious, experimental, and adventurous in her world.

Erika: good luck keeping up!
