This weekend our dear Caitlin Campbell became Mrs. Adam Fredericks, and I am now practicing saying things like "my brother and his wife" and "Caity, my sister-in-law" and "no, we don't play with our spit." (The last one is unrelated, but I've been saying it often nonetheless.) I've become a fan of the Friday evening wedding, as it creates the illusion of an extra weekend day. Not that "weekend" has any real meaning for anyone in retail, but I've always liked Sundays... anyhow, the wedding was beautiful and sweet and meaningful, and included all the quintessential nuptial elements... the knockout bride, the head-over-heels-to-the-point-of-embarrassment groom, the bridesmaid dress that could definitely be worn again... in my former life, when looking nice meant more than brushing my hair and putting on earrings. I won't go into details about the ceremony and reception here, but suffice it to say that it was a touching, meaningful ceremony, a killer party of a reception, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome Caitlin into our family. My experience of the day was somewhat different than I'd been expecting, as it was the first wedding I've been involved with since having children. (Whoa... it's still weird to use the plural form of the word...) Overall, the kids did well; Eden was well-behaved, Judah slept, and we were *so* blessed to have Derek's parents there to be our pit crew. However, the physicality of hauling two kids - one quickly-growing babe in a cumbersome, awkward carseat, and one dawdling, if compliant toddler - doesn't exactly lend itself to picture-taking for momma. It just about KILLED me not to be able to run around like an ADHD spider monkey snapping pictures of the day. I must admit, though, that once I came to terms with the impossibility of taking the 1000 shots I'd planned on, there was the liberation of letting go. (Sort of :) Here are some of the shots I *did* get.

The stunning bride before the ceremony
Eden and her daddy
Okay, I didn't take this one. :) Thanks dad! The first family shot since the hospital!

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Fredericks! :)

And what a beautiful night for a wedding! Love the family pic- you look like a natural- no sweat taking care of 2 kids in a fancy dress! :-)
How fun, you look great (w/o the crocs of course!!!) ;) I LOVE that picture of Eden & Derek! They are all great though, bummer you weren't able to get more!
It WAS a beautiful, special wedding. Wasn't it almost like we were interlopers watching the ceremony? They had eyes only for each other...sigh!
Nice pictures, girl!
