Where We're At: YaYa and Boppa's

Though all prepared to write a little about the time we spend at my mom and dad's place, I think the photos tell that story more quietly than the one about where we're at right now: ages and stages and phases that are all very normal right now, but that will fade and shift into a new normal any moment.

Judah is more regularly enjoying his meals at the big people's table. Today, mandarin oranges and a peanut butter honey whole wheat roll-up.

I'm pretty sure this was taken right after Eden informed Boppa that he and YaYa were married so long ago that Eden "barely remembers it."

Springtime means flowering trees around the condo, and Eden asks that we pick her one of these at every trip, even though they're a little stinky.

Watching Beauty and the Beast... the favorite video for the past few months. Eden is enchanted, and refers to the heroine as "Beauty" because she likes it better than "Belle."

Judah has been tapping into his creative side lately, and quite enjoys the large coloring format the floor pads afford him. His coloring style is ambidextrous and looks much like someone using a Ouija board, wildly following the crayons around the paper.

Selah is big and strong and healthy, but too young to move herself about independently, even to position herself. Consequently, we spend lots of time finding what position she'd like to be held in by the moment. She's cute. We don't mind.

I can't stop myself from putting this girl in soft, sweet, old-fashioned clothing. It suits her so well, and I wonder at what age I'll be able to put her in modern prints and colors. Not today.

Not today.
