Please Notice

It's been a long time since I've done a confessional post, and quite frankly, I'm feeling the need. It's so liberating to expel these tiny secrets into the cyber-abyss, if only to be able to say, "Hey, I warned you" when confronted with disapproval, real or imagined.

The picture below is a little small, but you can click on it to see it bigger. Why don't we start the confessional off right here? I don't know how to make my photos bigger on my blog, even though a) it would look better not just here, but more importantly on my business blog, and b) I have an email sitting in my inbox with detailed instructions on how to do so.

The photo below is a confession in itself. See if you can find the following things I would have removed from the shot if I'd had the inclination:

  • Sandwich in the process of being made on the counter without a plate
  • Silly, poorly written novel for teenagers (fourth in a series) that I've removed its jacket from to cut down on the self-contempt I suppress every time I compulsively pick it up
  • Chaotic clutter, including mug of cold coffee from hours earlier, grocery coupons I set aside but will never use, and random cords and cables that belong anywhere but the kitchen counter.
  • Child still in pajamas in the middle of the day
  • Child ON THE COUNTER gnawing on a piece of fruit

But aw.... he's so cute. It won't be long before I look at this photo and am struck by how little and chubby his toddler hands look...

Another confession... an umbrella confession, if you will.

My life is planned and executed on a day by day basis- perhaps 48 hours out. If you ask me what my next week looks like, it may take me a few stuttering moments to remember that there IS a next week, let alone what's on the calendar. We do things as they need to be done. Illustrated: Eden's room is no longer the bright offensive pink it once was, but the space itself has not yet been finished.

(In my defense, the child DOES have a bed. In this case, she cashed out on the floor during rest time for the first time in two months. It was photo-worthy.)

One last confession, as I'm suddenly inspired to move furniture and organize toys in Eden's room: with all my going on about food that is natural, organic, locally-grown, bleh bleh bleh, Eden immediately spots any Golden Arches on approach and asks if "Mommy's baby wants some fwench fwies again."

Yes, honey. Yes it does.

Confession is good for the soul Becky! And while we’re talking confessions here, you no longer need to be ashamed of “the books”. Megan can tease you all she wants, but she has no idea what she’s missing out on. I too, used to hide the covers while reading them in public, and refused to tell anyone I was reading them. But, I’m now an unabashed Twilight lover. I now regularly tell people how good the books are and offer my copies up for them to read…. You’ll get there. : )

Remind me to look for the little puncture wounds on the side of your neck the next time I see you......Don't you think God INTENDS us to live minute by minute?
I love this new posting. Reminds me when your brothers were wee ones and would wildly gesture in their carseats, screaming "Burger Hinga!" whenever they'd see we were passing a Burger King.

WOW, your human! I can agree with almost every one of your confessions. I sent you that detailed post and still don't know how to make pictures bigger. I spent most of my day yesterday in pajamas, why bother using a plate, really, b/c then you have to wash it... clutter is just a fact of life (mine at least). Enjoy your McDonalds while you can... what is that start date anyway???? ;)
