Deliberate Repression

Because I can't begin to string together thoughts about the absolutely turbulent state of our household psyche at the moment (thanks to the tempestuous three-year-old whose sudden storms wreak havoc on our days at the strangest and most unpredictable times,) I am choosing to post photos that are not indicative of this behavior in the slightest.

Perhaps I can repress the memory of how severely an ill-tempered tiny person can so efficiently shake my resolve to be a rational, calm, controlled adult. The other side of the coin is sweet and tender and heart-breaking, when I can see it. On mornings like this, when it is all I can do to play the part of the Parent Who Is Understanding and Empathetic Of The Trying Stage My Dear Child is Experiencing, I will look at silent photographs of my children taken during the very hours of these disturbing storms. I will attempt to take the advice I give Eden, and I will CHOOSE to behave the way I am expected to behave in this family, because it is loving and respectful of everyone in my family.

And I love them.

You will forget how trying these days are....I promise. Then when Eden is stressed beyond what she thinks is her limit with YOUR grandbabies, you can be calm and assuring. The pictures are adorable.
