i once watched a show about septuplets & the dad just took the cheerios box & sprinkled them on the clean carpet (in a line) for the toddlers to eat. he said they would end up there anyway... i remember the impossible parenting days, too. they happen way less often in the elementary school days. one has the fortitude to deal with them then.
