Blinking in Disbelief

Unremarkable series of events:

1) Our growing family begins to take steps toward listing our house.

2) In order to get a head start on the process, I enlist the help of my mom to clean, organize, pack, and stage it for showing.

3) At my mom's suggestion, I roll up a large rug to make the living room look bigger, and stow the rolled-up rug in the nice, organized basement.

:: Add 6 days ::

{I can not believe I am writing this}

While looking for a roll of paper towel in the basement this evening, I allowed myself to be distracted by my nice new freezer, waiting for my quarter cow, now home to various hand-picked berries, home-grown herbs, homemade pies and breads, and over 50 bags of breastmilk.

At room temperature.

Next to the outlet and a dangling plug is a bulky rolled rug.

I think I speak for any mother who has ever breastfed and who has ever held a pump (aka boobie sucker) their breast...

Oh. Oh. Oh. I am so sorry. I actually gasped out loud when I read this post, prompting my husband to pause "West Wing" to ask what was wrong. Even he got that this was a bad, bad thing.

I agree, at least the cow wasn't in there... but still... that's terrible! I really thought you were going to say that 6 days later you house sold, I was all ready to be excited for you!

I have no words. (And we both know that RARELY happens.)

A test of faith? A builder of character? (Well, no one DIED after all!)I'm afraid that I gasped, too, and blurted out something along the lines of "holy crap" but not as nice.

I don't even know you... never been here before but as a former nursing mama my stomach dropped when I read your post! :( I reread it a couple times hoping it would be different.

I'm so sorry!

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Yes, I did find you through Mera's blog. I love to click onto the commenter's blogs/sites to find people who might be in a similar place as me (just starting out, trying to build courage, etc.)

Have you been to one of her workshops? Your pics are fabulous. :)
