Eenah Jo-na-Hahna

My chief concern during the madness that was moving the week after Thanksgiving was not logistical, nor was it an issue of completing tasks. The main worry was for Eden and the disruption of her schedule and sense of normalcy. I now wonder how much of my concern was warranted, as Eden is a new kid. She is pleasant, affectionate, adventurous, talkative, musical, and helpful. Her vocabulary and ability to form sentences are improving all the time, and her pretend play is a HOOT to watch if you can be sneaky enough.

{I was informed a few days ago that the two angels in the nativity set are "Mrs. Potts" and "Mrs. Gun-singk"... her BSF teachers. I'm guessing that BSF quiet time has made an impression on Eden, as ten minutes later I found aforementioned angels overseeing the rest of the characters, livestock included, lying on their sides. Poor baby Jesus, affixed to that manger...}

I am acutely aware of the fast-changing nature of toddlers' temperaments, but, to be honest, I think the catalyst for this marked change was moving into this house. She now has the ability to move, unfettered, between three floors sans parental accompaniment. (If you were familiar with the old wooden death wish staircase in our old house you understand why it is just now that she is experiencing stairs unchaperoned.) Perhaps it's like the burst of development that occurs when a baby learns to walk: physical mobility strengthens neural connections, leading to accelerated development in other areas as well. Whatever the reason, this is a fun time of year for a little child who is interested in everything, and at least as fun for the momma of said child with a new delicious lens.

I miss Eden. Ellis is definitely better, but knowing how anal you and I are regarding the spreading of childhood illnesses, I fear that coffee will have to wait until at LEAST Thursday....already looking forward to bringing Ellis over to explore the new house at length! (And, as always, great pictures.)

Becky, she truly is a beautiful child...I think that everytime I see pics of her, but forget to comment about her simple beauty. Your photography of her can't hurt either! Pics of the house coming soon???

Isn't that amazing that a house can change a child? We had the same experience. Our kids can finally play with toys again instead of having a mean mommy who was constantly hiding toys for showings. :-) Beautiful pictures once again!

Love all that blur... that first pic you could hardly tell that that was Judah in the background! Glad the move went well and everyone adjusted!
