Back to School, Back to School

I was thinking about this place today, this little journal I used to keep. Specifically, I was thinking about this post, written exactly(ish) four years ago. Though Derek and I took the same kids to the same beach this evening, again to celebrate the weather and the season and the opportunity to dip our toes into the lake, the daily life we came home to differs somewhat from the one described in 2008.

That round baby wrapped close to his mother was tonight running and splashing and completely unconcerned with the buttcrack peeking out of the top of his shorts, and we had two more little Pomps rounding out our little circus.

Eden begins (another) school year, but not in a way we'd ever have imagined. I'm thankful that we can still take our time saying goodbye to the summer. It won't be this week!

We've switched jobs and started a business. We live in a different house. We traded in the Jeep for a minivan. (Cue sad trombone.)

It seems like a good time to pick up the blog again.

This makes me so happy! Now the pressure is on for the rest of us blogging slackers to belly up to the laptops.

So glad you have picked it up again. I can't tell you how many times I've checked and have been saddened by no new posts. This is not to put pressure on you - just to let you know I enjoy reading your writing.
