What Happens

It should come as no surprise that keeping up with a blog is more difficult when there are three little children in the house, one of whom nurses around the clock. That doesn't make it any less true.

{{Insert here any number of witty and well-worded excuses for failing to deliver what I feel is long overdue, and allow the following sentence to suffice. Apologies.}}

I keep meaning to finish that birth experience post, and hopefully this will happen before Selah Joelle is a month old.

This doesn't really look like her I don't think, but the photo is arresting to me, confrontational and inherently confident without being abrasive... so I'm throwing it in with the rest.

A few black and whites of our little Selah-Belah.*

*A few people have asked, so I will clarify that we pronounce Selah's name SAY-lah... so to complete the pet name, Selah Belah would be SAYlah BAYlah. Now you know.

Eden apparently still believes that "Canon" means "scowl and scurry away," so I don't have nearly the number of Eden images as I should to make it fair. I do have this one, though: Princess Hair. The only way a child with her momma's hair sees waves. She likes to look at its exoticism while sitting at the dining room table, which often means that Princess Hair comes complete with blueberry yogurt accents.

I know I've said it here before, but Judah is getting to be such a big kid lately. HOW DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING?! As we speak, he is getting a real big boy haircut courtesy of Aunt Megan in our kitchen. (Pictures to follow, duh.)

Judah remains borderline obsessed with animals, especially farm animals (generally identified by the sounds they make,) lions, bears, and kangaroos, but mostly it's about dogs. EVERYTHING is about dogs. We only have two or three canines in the bucket of cheap plastic figures that has become Judah's first-approached toy each morning, but they mingle well with the strange molded horses, cows, flourescent orange sheep, and of course the dinosaurs. I had to snap a photo of this favorite game of Judah's, which involves building structures around and about the animals, who seem to like complete enclosure or the ability to peek out windows. When the time is right, they all go to sleep on their sides. The name of this activity is "Dog. Home. Bock. Moo. Home. Dog. Home. Voof! Baa. Bock. Home."

We're off to enjoy the sunshine at the nature center with the kiddos on Derek's day off, and yes, that really long post will be coming up soon. Also, I just uploaded photos from the Big Boy Haircut... goodness gracious, this is going to be fun.
